Single parent is a person who lives with a child or children and who does not have a wife, husband or live-in partner.
Who are single mothers?
Single mothers are mothers who has a dependent child or children and who is unmarried, divorced or widowed.
Single mothers: How are they coping to raise their child?
One could easily ask but could possibly find it difficult to fetch the answer to that single question.
A single parent is just a person bringing or training up a child or children without a partner or aid.
All single parents have the same job which is to raise a child. The responsibilities are the same but the techniques are very different. Men and women have different teaching styles and ways to discipline. The molding of the child depends on the structure of the parenting structure.
This is the reason that men and women are meant to raise a child together. When one of the two is missing, the other struggles to fulfill the absentee’s place. The goal of a single parent is to have a well-rounded responsible child who is a productive member of society. There are various methods of achieving this goal.
For example, women have a more hands on approach to parenting. They tend to pay more attention to the child and try to be as helpful to them as they can be. They start to baby a child more than a man would. A woman wants to just be able to nurture them.
This is why a woman can be less aggressive than a man. Some women become for lenient to their children. They do not want for their children to feel disconnected from them. A woman is going to try her best to have a healthy relationship with her child.
A single mother sacrifices her social and financial independence.
Unlike a traditional family where two parents work together to raise children or solve anything that comes up in the house.
Some people ended being single mother because their partners are living abroad or are not close to them while some are as a result of outside marriage resultant or as a result of the death of the husband.
Aggressive single parent end up divulging the secret that are sealed and confided with regard to his or her status as a single parent. And as well as Putting fear, unrelaxed mind and in concentrated mind of the child.
Love is that condition in the human spirit so profound that it empowers us to develop courage; to trust that courage and build bridges.
Love conquers everything.
Single parenting love towards their child or children add to the stability and feeling of such child.
The child might not feel the vacancy of the opposite partner when his or her mind is calm and home settled.
As LeBron James said, “For me, already being part of a single parent household and knowing it was just me and my mom, you’d would wake up times and hope that the next day you’d be able to be alongside your mother because she was out trying to make sure that I was taken care of. But all I cared about was her being home” (http://quotes.lifehack.org/quote/lebron-james/for-me-already-being-part-of-a/). This is a proof of how single parenting takes a lot of family time from the parent and their children. This is issue is shown in The Color of Water by James McBride, as James and his siblings had to go through the tough times of being raised by a single parent.
Single parenthood culture seems appealing to many married people. However, married individuals are forced to battle with elements like faithfulness and life-long commitment to one individual, which may be boring in some cases. However, single parents, especially single mothers encounter serious challenges related to parenting. Single parenting is a succession of constant mental torture because of ineptness, self-scrutiny, and remorse. At some point, single parents will often encounter serious psychological problems some graduating to stress and eventual depression. Again, there are far-reaching problems that force single mothers to a set of economic or social hardships.
Many single mothers who are not comfortable with their cumbersome responsibilities and job to raise a child/children as a single parent wishes for a traditional family which is seen as a family where two parents working together to solve anything that goes on in their house. The advantage of a traditional family is that they are going to have a more stable income that will buy them a reasonable house or an apartment and also train their children.
“The traditional families have two parents, the mom and the dad, jointly raising kids with help and advice from each other”
Families are advice to embrace peace and understand their marriage in order not to encounter family scandal which can lead to divorce or any catastrophe which can mar the union.
When it happens, separation is the next agenda leaving either the husband or the wife single or as a single parent.
