Soldier Killed During Rowdy Election in Rivers, Two Months To His Wedding (Sad Photo)

  • A Nigerian soldier identified as Lieutenant Luka Ishaya Kurmi, was killed during the Saturday general elections in Rivers state, just two months to his wedding.
According to the Nigerian Army, Kurmi was killed during a face off between troops of 6 Division and some political thugs who barricaded a major road in Abonnema, Rivers State.
The gallant troops fought their way through the siege and in the process killed six of the assailants. However, Kurm was killed.
Preliminary investigation indicated that one Roland Sekibo, – the Chairman Akuku Toru LGA, Omodo – the CSO Akuku Toru LGA and Kenneth of Kula, currently at large, were the masterminds of the attack.
Late Kurm was set to wed his fiancée, Alheri Ganya Bissa, on Saturday, April 20th in Kebbi State.
