Get Up Africa Launches Her Skill Up Academy

Victoria Nwanna has emerged the winner of the Social Entrepreneur of the year Award organised by Ladies of Honour on the occasion of their Awards and Independence Day Ceremony.

Ladies of Honour (LOH), an organisation that celebrates ladies breaking bounds in different sector awarded her as the Social Entrepreneur of the Year for the lives she’s impacting via her platform, Get Up Youth Africa.

Get Up Youth Africa is a youth organisation focused on building a generation of change agents and African leaders who would champion sustainable growth in Africa. It aims to inspire, ignite imagination and provoke action through her various service chains (Today’s Heroes magazine, skill up academy, conferences and outreach)

Through Get Up Africa’s three-fold mandate which is to Inspire, Ignite Imagination and Provoke Right action for sustainable nation building, they are also establishing avenues for young people to pro actively engage in personal and community development.

Get Up Africa Launches Her Skill Up Academy

The youth led organisation, Get Up Africa has launched her proposed project Skill Up Academy.

Skill Up Academy was launched out of the drive to fight unemployment and unemployability in line with Sdg1 and 8.

This is designed as an incubation program whereby youths will be inspired, enhance their skill base and also their value and productivity base.

According to Victoria, there are jobs even though it is not enough to capture the majority but a critical fact is that many youths are not even employable especially in present times when emphasis is more on skill, productivity and result not just certificate.

This academy is an intervention program against unemployment and her sister unemployability and via this academy Victoria and her team have skilled over 500 youths in relevant skill and provided support to help them build extra stream of income.

She aims to scale the skills of over 4000 youths in 2020 through her massive Learning management site www.skillupacademyhub.com and physical trainings.
